I believe this activities is where the ball gets dropped most in network marketing. I have heard so many stories over the years where people joined a company later after being exposed by someone else who did not follow up with them. Many people get their feelings hurt when someone looks at their business and does not join right away. You need to understand, most people do not join immediately after watching your presentation. Most people will need more time and information dripped on them so they can make a positive decision to join you in your venture. I have had people join me days, weeks, months and even years after the initial presentation. It’s your job to keep planting the seeds as one of my mentors Jim Rohn had taught me early on in my network marketing career. You must follow up!

I would like to share with you why network marketing is so exciting to me. In many of my past business ventures on the Internet I had several friends who would ask me to show them how they can build a business on the Internet like I did. I was not able to do it. You will hear me reference timing many times in my success stories. I wish I could claim all the success to myself, however I have to be fair and honest to say that most times “Timing Beats Talent”. With that being said, I have been fortunate to find the right opportunities at the right time to leverage my talents and build successful businesses. However, with network marketing I can coach, train and mentor anyone to their desired success… IF the timing is right in their life to follow proven success principles consistently over 24-36 months.

In network marketing your customers should reflect the heartbeat of the company. Recruiting new distributors or reps is important and vital to your success, however if you and your team are not building a strong retail customer base your opportunity will be short lived. A good question I have always used when evaluating a product or service is … “Will people become a raving fan of the product or service and would they buy it without an opportunity attached to it?” If the answer is yes, then you have a winning opportunity. Many times people get confused with the question… “Do I lead with the product or the opportunity?” I will share with you further my thoughts and experiences with these questions to help you become better at getting new customers.

I have found it interesting that one of the most common questions I hear in network marketing is “Who do I contact and how do I invite them to look at my business or product?” This will require several posts and videos to properly address. There are so many ways to contact and invite prospects, you just need to be creative. Most people know more than enough people to accomplish their goals and dreams in MLM. However, they do not realize or know that they know these people. Sounds a little weird and I used to feel the same way until I learned some very key financial advice that I will be sharing with you about this very topic. Why is it that most people have goals and desires in their lives, however they never accomplish them. I have learned that even with slow but consistent effort goals can be achieved over time. You must set goals high enough to stretch your work habits, however not too high that your mind does not believe you can achieve them.

My dream began as a child and I knew early on that I didn’t want to spend my life working for someone else. I watched my parents struggle, living paycheck to paycheck and never getting ahead. In 1993, I came across an AOL Version 1.0 disk in a magazine. Fascinated by Internet technology, I bought a computer just to play the disk. I was convinced that the Internet would be an innovative way to market any business. I started using e-mail to contact businesses and began making sales from the comfort of home. As I flourished in the online environment, other businesses noticed and began calling. They wanted me to do for them what I was doing for myself. That’s when I first recognized the Internet’s potential to market Internet services through a home-based business.

Meanwhile, I became zealous about the Internet, predicting it would revolutionize the way people communicate. I knew the Internet was a growing market, but I didn’t have a clue how powerful it would be or that it would someday change nearly every aspect of our lives.
